The CL has certainly taken a different turn this season with some of the more fancied sides gone before the competition really heats up. Won’t be surprised if a BIG team crash out. For futures bets. Barcelona ($2.30) still look the ones to beat, but for some value I like Bayern Munich $6.50 or AC Milan $13 to take the crown.

Close on the Apoel call – they did well agains Lyon and just needed that one counter chance for the upset!

The MVP is almost always reserved for QB’s, but for a long shot (really long) how about Usi Omenyiora? a big game from him – say 2-3 sacks and 2 forced fumbles including the winning score and I think it’s time for a defensive MVP again.

If Patriots win, I don’t think anyone but Brady can win it. If giants win, Manning will most likely get it, unless one of his receivers (Cruz vs. Edelman – a WR) has a huge game with lots of Yards after Catch.

Would have agreed about Krezja two years ago but he’s too lazy to work on his game, strugging to be picked for Tassie and not getting wickets when he is picked.

Marsh would be gone if Watson was fit but deserves another chance if he’s not

Ponting and Hussey have both got runs this series and can’t both be dropped from a side that’s a ittle short on experience at the same time.

Krezja is still the best spinner. he is attacking and actually turns the ball.bowling looks ok if our best ones are fit but lets hope johnson never gets back in. hussey. ponting. marsh. all need to go. please dont pick ‘team’ suck ups. macgill and katich were not picked enough and dropped to early because they werent withe ‘the boys’

The Clippers have improved exponentially by adding CPIII, but they still need to figure out the supporting pieces outside of Paul, Griffin and DeAndre Jordan. Next year, if they can re-sign Paul, they might approach the top teams – Thunder, Mavericks, Lakers. Clippers are still Clippers and with Donald Sterling as the owner and Vinnie Del Negro as the coach they will screw up again.

The Thunder are only getting stronger and stronger, while in the east Heat and Bulls will duke it out.

Watch out for Pacers and Timberwolves to evolve into contenders as well, but maybe not putting it all together and threatening this year.

Had a 4 way multi bet on the weekend of 24/09/11 – 26-09-11. I’m not a big spender but like to have a punt on a few games / sports to make the viewing a little more interesting.
1st leg NZ Warriors over Melbourne. Always believed Warriors to have a good record down in Melbourne over last couple of years, and as a Parra supporter, still dirty over the Storm cheating saga. The next three legs were English Football Premier League bets. Just basically had a look at the full table on their home website and picked games that looked to have juicy odd matchups with Sportingbet. West Brom vs Fulham for a draw, Stoke vs Man Utd for a draw, that was a big one as Stoke had some recent good results around that time, but as a Liverpool supporter I just plain hate Man Utd; and the last leg Queens Park Rangers vs Aston Villa for a draw.
Well much to my amazement, they all came in. A $5 multi-bet returned me a profit of $912.28
Love the multi-bet. As I had some holidays for two weeks around that time, bought myself some camping gear and took off to the Kimberley W.A with the family for a week.

I outlaid $2000 in R26 of NRL on Bulldogs minus the start into Brisbane 9+ ht.. The bulldogs came home strong against the raiders, scored the try I needed with about 5 to go only for Andrew Ryan to miss a charity kick from near in front!! Thinking I was gone , canberra kicked off short, only for Josh Morris to score a 90m intercept try on the buzzer , keep me alive , and Brisbane to be up 14-0 at ht against manly for a tidy collect of around $8000..

Patience is not what it used to be – Attack in cricket should now refer to batting as the crowd wants to see batters attack the ball instead of defending his wicket.

In both t20 and one day internationals that’s the way it goes – in turn that makes test cricket look exceedingly slow and dull.

I’m not sure what can be done, or should be done, about the decline in interest – maybe make the wicket smaller, to make it more attractive for batsmen to go for it. Or limit the amount of fielders allowed in the slips to increase the chance of balls slipping through. Or maybe just embrace the short forms of the game and just keep tests for nostalgia.
