What a clash to kick off semi-final weekend in the Super Rugby.
Both sides will desperately want to win this all-New Zealand affair, to prove who is top dog in NZ and book their place in the Super Rugby grand-final.
Last time these sides met it was arguably the match of the season with the Crusaders prevailing by seven points.
The Chiefs threw everything at the Crusaders on that occasion and were unlucky not to walk away with a draw.
The Crusaders are seven-time champions for a reason and it’s that big match experience that gives them an advantage over the Chiefs.
I’m leaning towards the Crusaders to book their place in the grand-final for the second year running but it will be very close.
Sunday 1:00am (AEDT) Stormers $1.56 v Sharks $2.45 – Newlands, Cape Town
The Stormers have been dominant all season and is one of the toughest sides to beat for any team travelling to Newlands.
They have relied on their defence to get their victories and will adopting a similar game plan to get the job done against the Sharks.
Stormers fly half Peter Grant has been accurate all season with the boot, so if the Sharks discipline is not up to scratch he will make them pay.
The Sharks recorded an impressive 30-17 win on the road to the Queensland Reds last week and will be looking to build on that performance.
The job for the Sharks will be tough as the Stormers have the best defence in the competition and will need to find a way to break down the brick wall.
It will be another tight semi-final but the defence of the Stormers and the boot of Grant will book them a place in the grand-final on home soil.
