Round 11 Super Rugby Preview with Duncan McRae

Friday 5:30pm (AEDT) Hurricanes $1.52 v Blues $2.56 – Westpac Stadium, Wellington

Both of these sides have been major disappointments this season and a finals berth appears out of reach, especially for the Blues.

I’ve been backing the Blues all season but enough is enough and I’ll be backing the Canes to get the cash at home.

Tip- Hurricanes

Friday 7:40pm (AEDT) Rebels $5.40 v Bulls $1.16 – AAMI Park, Melbourne

It’s hard to see anything but a convincing Bulls victory in this clash.

The Rebels will be missing James O’Connor through injury while Danny Cipriani will be heading back to the UK.

Bulls will be aiming for a bonus point victory to leapfrog the Stormers in the South African conference and I think they’ll do it.

Tip- Bulls

Saturday 5:30pm (AEDT) Chiefs $1.06 v Lions $9.50 – ECOLight Stadium, Pukekohe

The Chiefs are going from strength to strength and it could be an ugly night for the Lions.

The Lions will try hard but don’t have the class to match it with the Chiefs especially on home soil.

Take the Chiefs 13 + and you will be collecting.

Tip- Chiefs

Friday 7:40pm (AEDT) Brumbies $1.91 v Waratahs $1.91 – Canberra Stadium

This should be a huge clash that will decide who goes top of the Australian conference.

The Brumbies have surprised everyone with their form and a big crowd should turn out in Canberra for this clash.

The Waratahs put in a big performance against the Crusaders last week but I’m expecting the Brumbies to lift in front of their home fans in a fiery encounter.

Tip- Brumbies

Sunday 1:05am (AEDT) Sharks $1.47 v Highlanders $2.72 – Kings Park, Durban

The Sharks are coming off the bye and will be primed for a big performance against the Highlanders.

The Highlanders have been one of the surprise packets of the season and produced a stunning comeback last week to run down the Cheetahs.

It should be a tight match and with that in mind will take the home side to get across the line.

Tip-Sharks

Sunday 3:10am (AEDT) Cheetahs $1.36 v Force $3.20 – Vodacom Park, Bloemfontein

If the Cheetahs can get over the capitulation against the Highlanders last week they should have too many points in them for the Force.

The Cheetahs play an expansive brand of rugby while the Force rely on their forward pack of Pocock and co to get the job done.

I’m expecting an open match and for that reason the Cheetahs should get home in a high scoring affair.

Tip – Cheetahs

Sunday 2:00pm (AEDT) Crusaders $1.20 v Reds $4.70 – Rugby League Park, Christchurch

Everybody is starting to look over their shoulder as the Crusaders are starting to make their charge.

The return of Richie McCaw against the Waratahs last week and the form of Robbie Fruean is enough to worry most sides.

The Reds managed to win last week over the Blues but the Crusaders are a huge step up in class.

I’m expecting a tough afternoon in Christchurch for the Reds.

Tip – Crusaders
